  I purchased this unit after seeing the infomercials and reading the product reviews on Amazon. I absolutely LOVED the unit the first 2 weeks I was using it. Then about 4 days ago I was doing another treatment and the unit lost suction in the middle of a treatment on my face. I am quite upset about it as I have come to depend upon the unit to help in treatments of acne scarring and dark marks on my face from sun damage.I have contacted the seller and am waiting as to what to do about it. I honestly LOVE the product but can't give it the original 5 star rating I would have 2 weeks ago now that the unit is becoming defective.If anyone else has this problem... please say so.   RE: Lost Suction... the solution

  Ive been reading great reviews, but users complain of lost suction... I almost didnt order one because of it. To make a long story short and to the point, there is a small silicone band that fits into one of the grooves of the wand. Mine popped off, I just happened to see it pop off or I wouldnt have known to even look for it. If you look at the produt diagram that came with the unit, you can sort of see a band in the groove, but it isnt labled. When it is missing, the unit has no vacuum seal and is ineffective. The problem is that you dont even realize that it is missing. Try using a tiny rubberband, you can get them at Walmart and at Dollar Tree stores in the hair section. Try slipping one into the groove and my guess is it will be just like new. Too bad the company doesnt lable it as a necessary componant of the system and maybe even include a few extras.   Tried NuBrilliance First, This is Better

  I bought Nubrilliance, used it twice and had the motor die. This product seems to have a better design (the filters stay put, unlike NB) and it comes with some nice extras that Nubrilliance doesn't- a cleaning brush, blackhead extractor, and 100 fliters. It doesn't have the course, fine, and small heads like Nubrilliance, but the one head it does have works fine for all areas. Another nice feature that Nubrilliance doesn't have is the screen, it has a digital readout that can walk you through a face treament with adjustments in suction intensity for each area and a timer, or you can put it on manual and work on your own time.I found tha suction to be less powerful than Nubrilliance but because the diamonds on the tip are on the outside rim of the tip, rather than recessed as in the center of the Nubrilliance tip, the diamonds are always in contact with your skin and you don't need as much suction.   I have been suffering from large pores and scaring on my face my entire life due too acne when I was younger.   I bought this home microderm product after many years of getting microderms at the spa, I normally go at least once a month and always love the results. I didn't even know that you could get something like this to use at home, and I was pretty surprised to find it on Amazon for so cheap. I normally spend at least $60 each time I go to the spa for my microderm, and I honestly can't tell much of a difference between the home treatment with the microderm md and what I was doing at the spa.   I used this for the first time yesterday and am very pleased so far. I have purchased (and returned) both the Personal Microderm and Nubrilliance systems and find this far superior.The Personal Microderm system uses abrasive discs and suction - while I do think it's effective, it's also potentially more damaging and seems less safe for home use. If you stay on one spot too long, you could literally create an open and raw area. While all machines of this type pose some risk of irritation, it's far harder to control the results with the Personal Microdermabrasion system than Timepeel, in my opinion.Nubrilliance has a similar idea to Timepeel, but Timepeel executed it better. The main difference is the tip - Timepeel supplies just one, but it can be used all over the face.   I like the machine, but you should understand it does turn out to be quite expensive. Read the fine print ~ it will cost $100 every 3 months to replace the filters and ~ AHEM ~ so-called "diamond tip". Diamond dust? MAYBE. Anyway ~ it works fine.   Not skin in the filter. . . can cause bruising....I am not sure if I will keep it!

  Update: I noticed that there is another head for the device. This other head holds the smaller attachments. I reused the unit with the smaller attachments and the suction and exfoliation was much better. At first, I had used the big head and big attachments which was clearly too much for my skin. My recommendation to the company is to do a BETTER instructional DVD. As for the scabbed skin, some of it peeled off and the skin under it is lighter than my regular skin tone. I hope the skin heals back to the right color.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I ordered this from SHOPNBC after the glowing reviews. I normally use the Brazillian Peel cream sold by Sephora, but wanted to try actual dermabrasion. This is supposed to be one of the closest things to actual dermabrasion.   Not as good as a professional microderm treatment

  I am still trying to figure this thing out. It comes with 4 packets of crystals, but the machine seems to drain right through it pretty quickly. It is enough to cover your whole face, but much seems wasted and goes right back into the machine and ends up in a larger container. I need to find a way to pry that larger container open and get the unused crystals out. It hurts when you do it, even on a lower setting. My face turned pretty red. It does exfoliate, but I think there are other products out there that are just as good and much cheaper. Like the Neutrogena At Home system. That one doesn't have the vacuum, but I honestly don't feel like you need the suction to get the exfoliation. It exfoliates. That is what it does. Do not expect anything else. 2/5 B.   Bought it as a xmas pressy for myself xmas 2009. It is wonderful as a home machine. LOVE it! Cost is about $10 a use. I am meticulous and keep all my things very clean and never reuse materials. People complain about the use "waste" of crystals and want to find a way to reuse them at the $10 a use cost vs $150 salon cost I am happy to use a new cartridge every time rather than risk a staff infection. I always clean my machine so I have never experienced any clogging with the machine like I have read that others have had. It is wonderful as a home machine. LOVE it! Cost is about $10 a use. I am meticulous and keep all my things very clean and never reuse materials. People complain about the use "waste" of crystals and want to find a way to reuse them at the $10 a use cost vs $150 salon cost I am happy to use a new cartridge every time rather than risk a staff infection. I always clean my machine so I have never experienced any clogging with the machine like I have read that others have had.   Don't waste your money

  I have large pores that clog easily, and have always struggled to find something that helps. I've done laser skin resurfacing, photofacials, professional microdermabrasion, etc etc. I saw the Chrystalift and did some research on it. I'm a good researcher and a skeptic, and I don't spend money recklessly. I wonder now why I bought this thing. I was suckered. On their website they have quotes like, "stars are finding this 'face-lift in a box' so effective, they're opting to use it instead of Botox." That's from InTouch magazine. And then, "A single microderm treatment costs as much as this entire machine" from NBC. The website calls it an "age fighting machine" and says it "softens wrinkles" and "fades age spots."Well, at my over-45 age, all those things are important. So I bought it, and have now used it for several months. And I can tell you - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. I kick myself every time I think of how easily conned I was. I WANTED to believe their claims.   Reduces Acne scars...when used for 4 weeks/once week.

  This machine was an obvious investment at the price, but I've always loved getting dermabrasion because it reduced my acne scaring. This machine helps to reduce and even eliminate the acne scaring. You are supposed to use one capsel (sp?) a week, but since I don't use one up every week (you'll probably use half) I just use the rest up the next week. You only use it once a week or it is too drying which you can tell from the flakiness that happens in 4 days (but not so much as the peel). It also closes my pores. My skin is like a babies bottom. It's awesome and totally worth it. I haven't bought replacement capsels yet because i've only used it for 3 weeks...but I think I will wait another month before firing it up again. You shouldn't microderm too often. I don't get paid by the company for this review.   Supplies are costly, suction creates red blood vessel mini bruises that photorejuvination heals at a cost of $250.00 If you, like me, already bought it, you can refill empty capsules with powder you buy at about $12.oo/oz which is 4 or more full applications. Simply rip off the rubber tip of their capsule,without ruining the cut on the top, fill it with "cheap" powder , and then reattach rubber cap with a thin strip of scotch tape. It seems to work! When the collection container fills up, simply shake it out. Perhaps, you can find a more efficient way,but I didn't. I ended up cutting my monthly cost from 39.99 to less than $10.00. 2/5 Tatiana A.
